For many refugees coming into Canada, the trials of losing homes, mourning the disappearance of loved ones and fleeing persecution are all-too-real. The difficulty of entering a different culture and making new connections and community ties can be incredibly challenging. This is where Inasmuch comes alongside refugees in the Spirit of Christian compassion and hospitality. Not only do they assist in providing housing and household goods, they provide access to job markets, mentoring opportunities, support with any legal issues, and help to foster a feeling of family. In other words, their desire is to help “the least of these” flourish in their new country.
In our interview with the Executive Director of Inasmuch, Kelly Rader shares her motivations, enthusiasm and strategies to help refugees grow in their new country.
