Most people will be familiar with the ministry of Prison Fellowship, an international ministry involved in over 130 countries world-wide. Like their parent organization, Prison Fellowship Canada’s vision is to facilitate reconciliation and restoration to prisoners, ex-prisoners, their families and victims using a faith-based approach to transformation that is based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. A good part of this involves developing meaningful community.
In the following interview, Shirley Buchanan, the National Program Director for PFC, tells a little of her own story (including the usefulness of her previous law profession), and why she continues to be involved with PFC. For those who aren’t as familiar with prison ministries, and PFC in general, Shirley’s experience, stories, and perspectives will certainly provide an interesting listen.
